Here and Now

Jessica Hutchins entered the Barnstable County Jail and began another level of healing. An artist and writer, she was given a tiny little pen, and a notebook and the words and pictures began flowing from her to the pages. Her words cascaded in a certain rhythm or cadence per se. They were messages of hurt and healing and messages of hope and letting go. Sleeping with her notebook and pen close by she would often awaken ready to transcribe a whole poem. Night and day the words kept coming. In no time she had over 200 poems and was willing to share them with others, not just for her healing, but also for the healing of others. After a few weeks of taking yoga, Jess resonated, with the intention of our class, honoring the space between no longer and not yet. Honoring that pause in between and focusing on the here and now. This poem was gifted to GraceYoga.
